News and Notes
The Lord is my light and my salvation;
I will fear no one.
The Lord protects me from all danger;
I will never be afraid.
- Psalm 27:1
Dear Parents,
Happy February!
The teachers have planned wonderful and exciting activities for your children. The Bible stories this month are the presentation of the Lord, The transfiguration, Jesus loves children and the conversion of Paul.
2/10—Miss Elizabee’s Birthday! Come in the Busy Bee Class and wish her a Happy Birthday.
2/10--We will be talking with the children about Ash Wednesday and why we have this special day.
2/8-2/12—Our annual Valentine’s Day party will be held in each classroom. Each child will enjoy treats, valentines and learn how we can share with our friends, God’s love for us. There will be more information from your child’s teacher about the exact day of you child’s party. Your child may wear red, pink, or purple. Let’s, celebrate the day!
2/13—St Thomas Sweetheart Car Show and OPEN HOUSE. Come visit the preschool and see the amazing things your child is learning. Teachers will be here to chat and answer any questions you may have about your child’s current classroom or future classroom. Pre-K parents this is a great opportunity to visit our kindergarten and chat with Mrs. Hogan. The open house is from 10 am-12 noon. The children will gather in the hall for a presentation to parents and visitors at 10:30am. See everyone on the 13th at 10:30. Please wear red, pink, or purple. We will be taking some photos for our classrooms and face book page.
2/15—Presidents Day- Preschool and Kindergarten will be closed
I will be out of the office on Friday February 26th. I will be attending the Los Angeles Religious Education Congress.
I have an open door policy. If you have a question, comment or concern please come chat with me. I am getting to know your children and I would love to get to know you as well. I am usually here between 9am and 6:30 pm. I find that parents have a little more time to chat at the end of the day. If you would like to talk in the morning before 9am, just let me know and I can come to school and meet with you.
Thank you for helping us to teach our children to wash their hands before choosing an activity at school. Keep up the good work. And if you are in a hurry when in the morning we will be happy to help your child wash their hands, just let us know. Thanks again.
All classes are in need of paper that can be used for art and drawing. If you have paper from work that is blank on one side, please bring it to your child’s classroom. We would love to help recycle the paper. If you know of another resource for paper, please let me know. We also need paper towel rolls, (the cardboard that is left when you finish the using all the paper towels). We will be doing a group art activity. We will need them by the 10th. Thanks!
Have a wonderful and Blessed month,
Darlene
