From the Director's Desk
I would like to thank all of our families who attended Back To School Night in September. I was impressed by the turn-out, and so happy we could all connect to better serve your child’s needs.
October will be another action-packed month for us here at S.T.E.P. On Tuesday, October 13, Fire Station 92 will pay us a visit with their fire engine to show all the children up close what a fire fighter does to keep us all safe. Picture Day with Fiesta Photography is on Monday, October 19. Even if your child does not attend that day, please feel free to come in to have your child’s picture taken. Afterall, we’ll want everybody in their class photo! On Friday, October 30, we will hold our annual trunk-or-treating festivities, and hope you all can attend. (Even if your child doesn’t attend regularly on Fridays, they are more than welcome to participate in trunk-or-treating, provided a parent stays with them.)
Again, thank you to all our supportive parents , who make such a difference in the lives of the children. We are all so grateful for the opportunity to work together with you.
For the children,
Sandi Schubert
S.T.E.P. Director

Super Stars
Happy Fall! This month the children will be learning about autumn, pumpkins and community helpers. Our bible verse for the month is: Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. Hebrews 13:8 the children will learn that even though the weather changes that God’s love for us will never change. Also this month we will have a visit from the firefighters and smile for our fall pictures(look at class calendar for details) We will finish the month with our annual “Truck-o-Treat.
Kindergarten
It has been a hot summer and I'm looking forward to the cooler days of Fall. Our room is looking more like fall, everyday, with the children's art.
We have a class of nine children this year and I am very excited to see how much they will learn this school year. They are already starting to sound out short three letter words as we learn the short vowel sounds and review the sounds of other letters. Several children are borrowing simple books from my library to take home and practice their skills.
Our new character trait for October is "faith" and the Bible memory verse is "I trust in your unfailing love. Psalms 13:5." Our slogan is " I believe God loves me." We will learn why we believe this by learning about the special gifts God has given to us in our world.
Blessings to all,
Mrs. Hogan
